Author: The Beard Struggle

When it comes to curly hair they can look adorable on a baby's head, or on your lap dog pooch, not so much when it comes to a man and his trusty beard. They can make ones face fuzz appear shorter than it actually is whilst making your average grooming routine a total nightmare.
Today I wanted to give you a few small, yet rather simple pointers on how to help tame down those tight locks and keep the curls to a minimum. So, let us begin...
DO NOT LET YOUR FURRY FACE DRY NATURALLY!
If your furry face is anything like mine, you might notice that curls tend to form and stay when you allow your beard to dry naturally right from the bath or shower.
It tends to happen similarly with the hair upon your head, not that this is a problem for me being a little thin on top. The easiest fix is to towel dry your man mane, not too vigorously though, as you'll cause yourself a mischief. This will help your beard dry faster, lower them curls and find the results you are looking for.
YOU MIGHT WANT TO UP YOUR BEARD BALM GAME!
I have highlighted the pros in selecting beard balms over beard oils in previous blog posts, but if you've missed those let me explain why I often use balms.
Beardsmen oils work great, don't get me wrong, but if like me, your face whiskers are a tad temperamental and unruly you might just benefit to the added bonus that balms can deliver.
Beard balms mostly offer better control of a frizzy face whilst granting all the cool stuff beard oils do, I much prefer having better control over unruly facial hair.
So hand selecting what work best for you and your fuzz will help control curls, waves, knots and everything in between.
AS TEMPTING AS IT MIGHT BE, STRAIGHTENERS AND HAIR DRYERS ARE NOT THE ANSWER!
Come on, admit it, you have probably given the idea of jumping on the hair straighteners and/or borrowing your good ladies hair dryer to help better control that furry face of yours, that is unless you have already succumbed to the idea.
Whilst reaching for such man made devices seems tempting and a simple 'quick fix' to all of the above problems, truth be told you'll be doing your furry face an injustice in doing so.
Yes, you might temporarily find the results you are searching for, but after only short length of time you'll open a 'can of worms' of other issues you'll want no part of.
For example, split ends, beard dryness, itching scabby skin, beardruff to name a few. Just remember, these contraptions were never created with your face fuzz in mind, hence why they often cause more harm than good. So leave them where they belong, on the shelf my Brother.
So, there you have it, a few pointers to keep the curls at bay, which sees another beard related blog come to a sweet end for today my friends.
