THE PROS & CONS OF GROWING A BEARD IN THE COLDER MONTHS

The colder autumn months are right upon us with winter hiding right around the corner, and whilst Jack Frost may soon be nipping at your nose there are a few pros and cons to growing out your very own fierce fluffy face warmer. So let us begin...

WHO NEEDS TO WEAR A SCARF WHEN YOU CAN GROW YOUR OWN?

Make those miserable frosty morning commutes a touch warmer by growing out a big bushy beard of your own that'll help keep those ice cold winds at bay, just like a scarf would. The clever thing about our glorious beards are they help protect against the suns rays during the summer months, and on the flipside they also act as a form of insulation to help lock in your natural body heat.

BEARD ICICLES ARE THE REAL ICY DEAL!

Not so much a plus side to owning a beard, but if you've grown out just enough facial fluff you're likely to meet 'beard icicles' when the temperature drops below freezing. This might seem a little O.T.T but they can really happen! It was only last year when we had a bitterly cold christmas that I first noticed that the condensation created by me breathing whilst walking quickly began to freeze over. Within a matter of minutes I had tiny little icicles begin to form along the bottom of my moustache and through the beard too. Whilst this might not be the greatest look to rock out with, it most certainly added to the jolly Christmas festivity feels!

HEY THERE CHRISTMAS! YEAH I'M TALKING TO YOU, CHRISTMAS!

Throughout the year I'm sure you already receive a heap of smart ass comments in regards to you owning a magnificent beard. the most common I get is ''Hey! Have you put your head on upside down this morning?'' being a bald guy with a ginger beard everyone seems to love that one. As the Christmas holiday season comes into full flourish the peoples favourite then becomes ''Are you growing out that beard to look like Santa for Christmas?'' Yep, very original. Like I haven't heard that one a hundred times over. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind a little light hearted seasonal banter. But it does get a little old hearing it year after year I must say.

YOUR BEARD CAN BECOME YOUR VERY OWN JOLLY DECORATION!

You might have seen the photos that re-appear around the Christmas holidays of bearded gentlemen digging out the Christmas baubles and glitter tinsel to decorate their beloved beard-manes like a boss. The results are rather glorious I must say! So much so I've given it a little go myself a few years ago. This year I'm planning to add lights, glitter, tinsel and everything else in between to really spice up the Christmas jingle! Fancy taking part?
